Installation Troubleshooting
The most likely cause of installation problems is a lack of free memory on your handheld device when you installed BluefishRx. The Palm hot sync manager does not warn you if you have run out of memory while installing applications. Check that you have at least 1Mb (5Mb on the Tungsten T5 and Treo 650 models) of free memory on your handheld at the completion of the installation. If you have less than this you may not have correctly installed all the necessary files. You should have at least 1Mb and hopefully more memory free to enable your handheld to run your applications correctly.
If your handheld is crashing (you recieve a 'Fatal Alert') it is very likely that all the files associated with BluefishRx have not been installed correctly. Check your handhelds available memory. If you have less than 1Mb try to delete some other applications to free up memory and then delete BluefishRx and re-install it.
If you have a Windows based PC try
using Addit to install BluefishRx. You can download Addit from www.palm.com/addit.
BluefishRx is listed in the HealthCare section of Addit. Addit automates the
installation process and makes updating BluefishRx a breeze.
Tungsten T5 Hot Sync Installation Problems
If you have a Tungsten T5 and your hot sync is failing it is likely that it is timing out while trying to install one or more files. This issue may simply go away or it may persist.
As a temporary workaround for some customers, we have been having them turn on the DLServer Wait Forever flag. To do this:
1. On the T5, tap on the hotsync
icon to launch the hotsync app.
2. Hold down the page-up (rocker-up) key.
3. Tap in the upper right corner of the screen (while holding down the
page-up key).
If you follow the above instructions correctly, you should see a message:
DEVELOPER'S BACKDOOR
DlServer Wait Forever is
This should prevent your hot sync manager from terminating before all the files are installed correctly.
