BluefishRx
Prescription Writer
BluefishRx streamlines the prescription writing process
for physicians. With BluefishRx, you can manage patient
details, review a patients active drugs and log all
prescriptions written. Choose from a database of over
2500 drugs (supplied by ePocrates and updated monthly)
and write multiple prescriptions and refills on your
handheld with a few strokes of the stylus. BluefishRx
will save you considerable time. Some users have claimed
that BluefishRx has allowed them to see two to three
additional patients each day. Following is a very

User
Details
The first time you launch BluefishRx you will be asked
to enter your user details in the appropriate fields.
This information will be encrypted and sent along
with faxed prescriptions (or appear on the printed
prescription). You can choose to secure your application
and patient data with your signature or a password.
BluefishRx uses a powerful biometric signature verification
system and 256 bit encryption.

Adding
Your Patients
To enter a new patient into your handheld, simply tap new and fill in the form. Entering information is made easy with a series of drop down menus. Once entered, the individual will be added to your patient list.
Patient data can be imported into the handheld from
your patient management system. We have various tools
available that will allow you to automate the import
and updating of patient data. Click

Patient
Drug History
When viewing the patient list, an Rx icon to the left
of the patient name alerts you that the patient's drug
history is on file. By tapping the icon, you can view
the active drug list for the patient. You can toggle
individual drugs between active, on-hold and discontinued
by tapping the icon to the left of the drug name. To
generate refills for drugs in this listall just check
the boxes to the left of the drug name and then tap
the printer icon in the top of the screen. See the user

Prescription
Writing
Writing multiple prescriptions for a patient is very
fast. BluefishRx offers all the features you would expect
from the leading handheld prescription writing product
on the market. BluefishRx is fully integrated with ePocratesRx,
allowing you to check dosing and interactions while
generating prescriptions. After selecting a drug just
tap the ePocrates icon to jump straight into ePocrates.
When finished your review, tap the back arrow to return
to BluefishRx.

Printing
and Faxing Your Prescriptions
You can print or send your Prescriptions wirelessly.
Prescriptions are encrypted and sent via fax to the
selected Pharmacy just as if you had printed and faxed
the prescription yourself. BluefishRx allows you to
print prescriptions and chart copies via Bluetooth,
WiFi, GPRS or Infra Red. In a wireless printing environment
you can easily configure and switch between multiple
printers. Most printers can be infra-red enabled by
attaching an infra-red adapter to the printer's parallel
port. BluefishRx keeps a log of all prescriptions written
and has various reporting functions.
